After careful consideration and plenty of troubleshooting, we have made the difficult decision to pause the trading feature on Primitives.
The trading feature was a highlight of Primitives for a time, and we understand the value in being able to profit from your artwork in a seamless way. However, given the complications of landing complex transactions on Solana, this decision was made with the best interests of our product and community in mind.
Why We’re Making this Change
- Stability: Maintaining the trading feature at a high standard requires extensive resources, particularly in terms of security and stability. By pausing this feature, we can enhance the overall security and performance of the app, providing a smoother and safer experience for all users. We will revisit trading in the future.
- Experience: Our primary goal is to deliver the best possible user experience. Simplifying our feature set allows us to streamline the app, making it more intuitive and easier to use. This change will enable us to focus on improvements that directly impact your daily interactions with Primitives.
What This Means for You
The trading feature will be officially paused on Friday, August 2. Until then, you will still be able to access and use the feature as usual. After the removal, any ongoing trades will be automatically closed, and your portfolio value will be sent to your wallets in USDC. From there, you can cash out as normal via Solana.
We want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. We are committed to continuously improving Primitives and providing you with a platform that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. We value your feedback and encourage you to share your thoughts with us as we embark on this new chapter.
